Food and Food Safety
“Safe food now, for a healthy tomorrow.” Food is referred to as any material taken to give nutritional support for an organism which aims to provide energy, preserve life, or encourage growth. It is therefore important to ensure its cleanliness and maintain its nutritional value through proper handling and production. This is a critical component for every company working in the food industry. Because even a single food-related event can be devastating to entrepreneurs, food safety should always be a high focus. Consumers needed assurance that the food they were about to consume would not harm them, and that it had been prepared in a sanitary manner, handled properly, and stored safely to avoid foodborne sickness and injury. Similarly, if customers are satisfied with the quality of food given, the company will be able to maintain its standing in the market, resulting in increased sales, productivity, and employment. The Food Safety Act of 2013, also known as Republic Act 10611, tightens the country's regulatory framework to protect consumer health and facilitate market access for local foods and food products, among other things. But how can eating be dangerous?
